David and Victoria Beckham added to the celebrity mix on Sunday to see the F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Wearing matching biker gear the couple led a phalanx of stars - including Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and his wife Yasmin - at the Formula One event. As well as mingling with fellow famous faces, David and his glamorous other half happily chatted to mechanics and staff at the Honda garage, where they were guests of Jenson Button.

“We’re looking forward to seeing Jenson and the other drivers race - and Lewis, who’s the man of the moment,” enthused the footie ace just before the race. Meanwhile, Posh was clearly in her element, beaming: “This is so exciting. We’ve met some amazing people.”

Beckham turns down ‘Simpsons’ offer
The Simpsons creator Matt Groening has revealed that David Beckham turned down an offer to appear on the cartoon.

The footballer was asked to star as himself after joining the LA Galaxy team, but sources close to Beckham have claimed that he can’t forgive producers for making reference to his alleged affair with Rebecca Loos in a Christmas special.

Marge Simpson hosted Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Message in 2004, and compared her relationship with Homer to the Beckhams’ marriage: “Our union is as solid as the union between your David Beckham and Posh Spice. Oh, he did that? With his assistant? That’s so sad. Okay, moving on.”

Groening confirmed: “Beckham didn’t want to take part, but never mind.”
